What Generation III Pokémon You Should Look Out For

If you ask me when do I think will Generation III be released, I'll honestly say on the anniversary of Pokémon GO. I think Niantic will release Generation III within this year, and I'm very hopeful on this. You shouldn't consider this as fact thought. It's just pure speculation based on assumptions that are not rooted by logic. Still, I want everyone to know which Pokémon should everyone look out for. This Generation will release two non-legendary Pokemon with High CP (three if you count a certain Pokemon with absurdly high CP) so you might want to know which Pokemon will be a threat to the current metagame. I'm going to list the the 10 Gen III Pokemon with the highest projected CP.

With it's high HP, and useful typing, it will be a good Dragonite counter as well, as well as Salamence being an additional top tier threat, it will be a good option in case you don't do raids and get Lapras. If Spheal, Walrein's base form, do not get the "Mareep" treatment, whereas a common Pokemon in the main series game becomes rare for no reason, it should be far easier to get Walrein to power-up compared to Lapras. Walrein would have a weaker attack than Lapras, but it should be more bulkier, having one of the highest HP in this metagame.

A viable Fighting type to counter Blissey plus a great Fire type that can match Flareon, Blaziken is a welcome addition in Gen III and it's also a fan favorite. This fire chicken will definitely be a welcome addition to any player's collection of Fire and Fighting attackers, which will see use once Metagross and Tyranitar rules the gyms. It will have a stronger Attack than Machamp so if it has a Fighting type moveset, it can be another viable option on Raid Battles, but its fraility will be its downfall.

If they don't add more moves, it won't have a Rock-type quick move, but it will have a Bug type moveset in a Generation where Gardevoir would possibly top the threat list, which is good, but there are already Bug types that would make a better job like Pinsir and Scizor, which also sports Steel typing. The only thing it has an advantage over those two is its Rock typing, which makes it receive neutral damage from Fire and Normal type (less damage from Hyper Beam). At least it'll be definitely better than Cradily.

This is one of the weirdest Pokemon yet. A bulky Fighting type? It's one of the only few defensive Fighting types, a type that is mostly attack oriented. If used against Blissey, it will definitely make a good dent with its high Attack paired with its very high HP, which rivals even bulky Water types. Defensively, Flying and Fairy types are not that common attackers, but Alakazam and Gardevoir especially are good counters. Generally speaking, Gen III is going to be kind to Hariyama, until Staraptor comes home to roost on Gen IV.

Swampert helps boost the usage of Grass type attackers in a weird way. With Gyarados reigning some gyms, Electric types are used more often against Water types just to keep the momentum in defeating gyms with a Gyarados/Vaporeon combination. You would also see Skarmory and Mantine usage increase after the gym rework, because High CP mons will decay its motivation more quickly, so High Defense Low CP Pokémon will be more common as time goes by. Both of those Pokémon, especially Mantine, are weak against Electric-types. Finally, because almost all players got their Water Gun/Hydro Pump Pokemon during the time it was the best moveset, Water types are used against Rhydon and even Tyranitar even though Grass types will also make almost the same damage. Plus, both Rhydon and Tyranitar has a move against Grass types; for Rhydon, Megahorn for non-Poison Grass Types, Mud Slap/Earthquake for Grass/Poison, while Tyranitar has Fire Blast.

With Swampert being a very good Defender, and especially its middling CP, and with it's typing only having the sole weakness to Grass types, a well balanced stats that is good for defending, you will definitely need Grass-types now. Also, if they do Mud Slap/Earthquake and Water Gun/Hydro Pump on Swampert, it will definitely be a great two-way attacker.

The next 5 Pokémon will be featured next week. While you're here, you can check out this post I've done about additional features that should be added in the game by clicking here.

Let's Fix: Additional Features

PS: Sorry for the late post. I was able to finish the text but... Raid Battles got released. :D Didn't get to finish the final post until tonight.
